Casual Days

I’m sitting here writing this blog post with a sore throat, a stuffed up nose, and a big lack of sleep. As I sit on the couch in my sweatpants and old sweatshirt that I got years ago during some family camping trip, I've decided to talk about casual clothes, a very fitting topic for today.

This summer I went to the Farmers Market with one of my guy friends and the first thing he said when we met up was “Wow, you’re wearing jeans. I’ve never seen you wear jeans before!” I had to laugh because it was true, I really don’t favor jeans very much, unless they’re black of course.

If you walk into a room with me, the chances are I’m probably the one that’s always overdressed. I am 110% not a yoga pants, college sweatshirt, Ugg wearing type of person, but if you are, that’s totally fine. Everyone has their own personal style and mine just tends to be on the dressy side.

I think people have different opinions on what “casual” clothing is based on their style. For me, an example of casual dressing would be a pair of blue jeans and a sweater. For others, causal could be anything from pajamas, to sweatpants, to plaid shirts, to work out clothing. If you were to ask five of your friends right now what they considered to be "casual," I assure you they would all give you a different answer.

This past Sunday I was running around starting some Christmas shopping to prepare for the holidays. I wanted to be comfortable while shopping, so I went with some basic skinny-leg cropped jeans, a warm sweater, and some flat sandals. Here’s a little disclaimer though, I wouldn't advise wearing these Birks outside if the snow is 3 feet high and slushy. This was shot last Sunday on a warmer "snow-less" day. Funny how just a couple days ago it was nice, and now if you go outside you can’t see two feet in front of you, it’s snowing so much here!

So, I want to know, what do you wear on a day you’re just going around running errands and such?

  3. I immediately thought of Ralph Lauren campaigns when first seeing these photos. The setting is beautiful, the green H&M chunky knit is perfect and you're very beautiful - you remind me a little of Katie McGrath (a total, massive compliment - did you see her in Merlin?!) :) Have a nice weekend (when we get there)!
