Up, Up, And Away

And we’re off! It took 4 days of packing, planning outfits, and multiple late nights runs to the store to get things, including luggage. The night before we were supposed to leave, I weighed my suitcase, it was less than fifty pounds, “Perfect!” I thought. Then my mom comes in my room and tells me it has to be certain dimensions as well. We measured it, and sure enough, it was WAY over the dimensions specified. I had to unpack my entire suitcase and re-pack it into a smaller suitcase and a carry-on bag. Only problem was I didn’t have a second piece of luggage. We made a late night run to get another suitcase just so we could avoid the ridiculous $200 fee of having a suitcase over fifty pounds. After that whole debacle things went much smoother, and we were all set for these exciting upcoming adventures.

I read something in a book (I forget the name! Whoops!) A few years back about dressing for the airport and it has stuck with me all these years. Especially now that I am traveling more often, I always refer back to the advice. In the book, it talks about the importance of dressing nice at the airport. Long story short, no one wants to sit next to a slob. It’s also important to dress nicely because you never know who you’re going to run into in the airport. Now, I’m not suggesting heels and a dress, but just a nice pair of jeans and flats with a simple T-shirt is a hundred and ten times better then someone who looks and smells like they haven’t showered in a couple weeks.

I decided to dress in light material since were leaving from a place where the weather is currently negative degrees and flying somewhere where it is eighty degrees. I’ll be ditching the coat as soon as we land, but the thin pants and crop top will be perfect for the heat. I also decided to wear this heavy camel coat instead of packing it so I could keep a few pounds out of my suitcase.

I’m currently on a plane on my way to the Caribbean for the next two weeks. Before you sign off of my blog for the next couple weeks, I will be posting still so stay tuned. I’ll be trying to update Twitter and Instagram as well, but I can’t be 100% how the connection will be.

Talk to you all soon!

    1. Haha, thank you! The mass amounts of people and as you said the lighting did make it a bit difficult at times. Somehow, it all worked out though. I'm glad you liked this post, thank you again!
